Abacus was founded in 1985 by three graduates from the University of St. Gallen who are still with the company today. With more than 100,000 software modules sold and over 44,000 customers, Abacus is the largest and therefore most successful independent Swiss provider of business software for small and medium-sized companies. Abacus Research AG is headquartered in Wittenbach-St. gall. Other branches are in Biel, Thalwil, Munich and Hamburg.
